With the motto “न ज्ञानात परमं चक्षु:” our parent institution, Vasantrao Banduji Patil trust’s Appasaheb Birnale College of education( B.Ed.M.Ed),Sangli , works for the liberation of the students from the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance. We are committed to the quality teacher education and wish to provide the best possible professional preparation to the future teachers. With the prescribed curriculum we have many value added courses for the overall development of the student teacher. Life Skills and Soft Skills Development, workshop Hand Writing Workshop, English speaking Workshop, personality development workshop.Teacher Enrichment workshop, Carving workshop etc.
Education technology has a lot of potentiality to improve and manage different aspects of education system. Our future teachers must anticipate how they can match the traditional methods of instruction with the newer ideas about learning. Use of ICT is a regular teaching practice for our students. Learner-Centered Methods like Group Discussion, Role playing are used. Well qualified staff is the backbone of our college. All of them are aware of the role of research and training, and are doing well. Various extension activities are also performed in the institute. We organize workshops for primary and secondary and college teachers.

To carry out all these activities we have sufficient infrastructure. We have a separate three storied building, with all the facilities like classrooms, multipurpose hall, well equipped library, Computer Lab, Psychological Lab, Audio Visual Aids room, E.T. Lab, Science Lab, Language Lab, music room, swimming tank , etc. Student support and progression is of at most importance for us. Besides providing academic instructions we also give due importance to co curricular activities as well. Debates, cultural events (Street Play for society)games, workshops and other adhered community programmes form an integral part of our educational system.
“The destiny of India is being shaped in her classroom” has been pointed out by the Education Commission (1964-66) and to that it may safely be added that the destiny of these classroom is being shaped in the institution of education with committed teachers. prepare our student teacher to be a teacher forever. The entire course is dedicated to elevating the quality of Teacher Education in the State. Through its various activities, the College aspires to create an environment to assist the student teachers to realize their full potential to enable them to play their roles effectively in the society in which they live in.
The college hopes to march with determination towards more achievements in future.
